Fashion Trends I Hate

Today I'm going to introduce you to the fashion trends that I very strongly dislike, believe are unnecessary, and need to go.

Overly Chunky Sneakers

Starting off strong, overly chunky sneakers are a trend I have never been able to get behind. I have also never really understood the appeal, because in my opinion, the oversized look of chunky sneakers can really distract from other great parts of an outfit. For example, Fila in recent years has tried to bring back oversized sneakers from the 90s and early 2000s. While may top-of-the-line designers also worked courageously to slip this trend back into the fashion world, I am just someone who has never been a fan no matter what the brand is, or what the tag says. I do know plenty of people who have decided to embrace chunky sneakers, but I just truly cannot force myself to be one of them.

Bucket Hats

Bucket hats have been surprisingly popular in recent years, leading back to the Y2K/more grunge style. I know plenty of people that are more than able to pull off a bucket hat, but I don’t believe that it means they should. They oddly sit on your head, cover any type of dun hairstyle, and in my personal opinion, just downplay a fabulous outfit entirely.

Bell Bottom Jeans

I am a strong believer that bell bottom anything, especially jeans, were made to stay in the 70s. Now I am an advocate for flared pants coming back, but by no means does that excuse actual bell bottoms. Unless you are headed to a costume-themed party, I cannot understand why someone would actually want to take on a 70s inspired look unless that was actually what they were going for. I love to wear certain pieces inspired by past decades, but this is just one I will never be able to get behind.

Low Rise Anything

This is controversial because low rise, for a long time has been a trend of the past, but it has sadly returned. I am all for body positivity, but I strongly believe that unless you have a body like Kendall Jenner or Gigi Hadid, low rise pants are just not flattering. Since crop tops are all the rage, it just does not make sense to me it just does not make sense to me why anyone would want their entire midriff, for me an area I am not a fan of on my own body, to be completely exposed.

I hope that my fashion hate's will inspire you to either make a list of your own or purge your closet, any of the two work!

With Love,

Callie
