Clothing Essentials I Can’t Live Without
Everyone has pieces in their closet that they can’t live without. Today, I am going to share with you the items I believe every woman should have in their box of tricks.
A Good Pair of Light Wash Denim Jeans
Every woman deserves to find their perfect pair of jeans. This is something that has taken me while to find, but now that I have, I need to share it with the world. The Levi’s Ribcage Straight Ankle Jeans in the color tango gossip have made all of my denim dreams finally come true. For someone who is 5’2 and has problems getting jeans to fit well in all three categories of the waist, butt, and thigh areas, I can tell you that these jeans make me feel, hands down, more confident than ever.
Platform Sneakers
Since I have already explained that I am pretty short, I think this one is a given. I have always loved platform sneakers, but when I found the High-Top Converse Canvas Platform Chuck Taylor All Star’s, I think I met my match. Now I too have had my phase with various pairs of Golden Goose shoes and even some inspired by the famous Alexander McQueen sneakers, but for the comfort, price, and classic look, you truly cannot beat platform Converse.

A Few Good Cropped Tops
Some of what I have the most of in my wardrobe are various cropped tank and long sleeve tops. I feel like they are so easy to mix-and-match with so many different pieces in your closet. Personally, I do prefer to have something cropped so it goes well with my preferred high-waisted jeans. Many my favorite tanks I have are from Zara because they just simply have such a wide selection.

A Bold Jacket/Blazer
One of the best ways to spice up a more casual or toned-down outfit is to add a bolder (in print or in color) jacket/blazer. A leather jacket has always been a staple for many women, because it adds a sort of badass look to any outfit. A great contrast with a leather jacket is paired with a more girly mini dress just to give it an edge. Blazers, on the other hand, are something that I have more recently fallen in love with. I love the tailored, sophisticated look that even an oversized blazer can bring on. Bright colored blazers have been really in style recently and I love this trend because I picked up a fuchsia blazer last year at the thrift store that can easily spice up any outfit.

Turtleneck Knits
This one could be controversial because turtlenecks are either a love or a hate in most eyes, but I think they’re a wardrobe staple for the colder months. Turtlenecks keep you warm, the high neck is flattering almost anyone, and they’re versatile. These sweaters/tops can come in many shapes and sizes, from chunky and knit to slim fitting and more girly, I think it is a piece everyone should own. Not to sound like a broken record, but some of my all-time favorite turtleneck sweaters are ones I have found at places like Zara and Urban Outfitters. Zara knits are definitely more on the budget-friendly side, but Urban Outfitters also has endless options with more of that cozy, oversized feel.

Leather Pants
Last but certainly not least, I believe that some type of leather pants should be a staple in every woman’s closet. They also give such a badass feel like a leather jacket and I have found that they are just able to hug in all the right places. For example, one of my favorite ways to pair a slimmer pair of leather pants is with an oversized sweater and chunky boots, my favorite is my all-black Doc Martens.
